Singing and percussion workshop of Argentine Folklore
Time & Location
05 May 2022, 18:30 – 20:30 CEST
Basel, Utengasse 15, 4058 Basel, Switzerland
About the Event
We will review the rhythms and repertoire we learned in previous workshops. (But don't worry: you don't need to have attended before!).
This time, we want to go deeper into the songs, learn to sing and play and build a repertoire as a group. That's why we encourage you to attend all workshop dates, although this is not mandatory. The idea is to create a voice and percussion ensemble ofchacarera, zamba, carnavalito, singing with box and more. :-)
The events will be without masks and NO COVID TEST is required! But we ask you to stay at home in case you present any symptoms.
The cost of the workshop is CHF 50.- and you can pay it directly that same day or in advance (written material with information and lyrics included). We attached a PDF with more details. If you have any question don't hesitate to write us.
If you have any struggle and cannot pay the total amount, please contact us and tell us your situation. We don't want anyone to miss out.
------------
About the workshop We will approach different songs of Argentinean Northwest Folklore with their respective rhythmic patterns and sing a selected repertoire of Vidala, Carnavalito, Chacarera, Bailecito and Zamba. The rhythmic richness of this style will allow us to assimilate the pulses and their subdivisions promoting the use of our body and the union of voice with movement.
Who can participate? The workshop is open to young people and adults who want to sing in a group, explore different sounds and rhythms of the Argentine folklore through singing and percussion.
